I’ve been hitting refresh on Fedex’s site for an hour and a half now…..since about 6:00 AM. It’s 7:21 AM now and I just recently saw an update to the status of my package which shipped from an Amazon.com facility in New Castle, Delaware yesterday. My copy of GTA IV, Special Edition, is only a few miles away from me.

Some hard working men and women are probably loading the truck my game will be delivered in right now. Please, oh please be careful. And please, oh please, don’t lose it. The question now is, where in line is my package as far as delivery time? Will my Rockstar/GTA IV faux safe deposit box filled with goodies like a GTA IV soundtrack, duffel bag, and book of special game art be delivered at 9AM or 5PM? I really hope it’s the former.

I plan on playing the shit out of this game. I am looking for an escape from the realities of my shitty little life. Work is slow for me right now, I’ve been having issues with the girlfriend, and my bank account is low. What better way to fix all of that than to play a videogame all day and night then probably all day the following day before I have to tear myself away tomorrow evening to go to the gym and fulfill my obligation to satify my girlfriend and then sleep over at her place?

jason kidd is having a hell of a time guarding…..well…..anyone. kidd is too slow to guard chris paul or pargo and is too small to guard peja. jason’s getting dominated and tonight he seemed to lose control and break from his frustration as he grabbed pargo by the back of his neck and slammed him down to the floor. kidd was ejected and the hornets coasted to a 3-1 series lead. the hornets havent won in dallas since january 24th, 1998. go hornets go!

I really hope the Hornets can win game 4 tonight in Dallas. I also hope they win the series here at home in New Orleans.  I heard on the radio that coach Byron Scott said he might activate Melvin Ely or Chris “Birdman” Anderson to have an extra big man on the inside who can afford to foul.  If he activates one of our other big men, who is he going to bench? Coach Scott better not bench Ryan Bowen.  Bowen brings hustle and effort like no other player.  Why not let him give up some fouls?  Go Hornets!

My girlfriend’s friend was nice enough to give me her used Samsung Blackjack i607.  Awesome. This would be my first 3g phone for use with AT&T wireless.  I must say, this phone has been a bit of a hassle. I’ve owned several windows mobile powered pocket pc phones in the past.  All of them were pocket pc phones and not smartphones. It’s taken a bit of getting used to with this smartphone with its lack of stylus.

I was getting used to my i607 Blackjack when today, it locked up.  I was entering in a new phone number to save.  I scrolled down on the contact info to a part that says something about entering a custom ringtone for this contact.  I don’t think this field is standard on windows mobile 5 for smartphones. I have software installed called ringo.

The phone was totally locked up. I couldn’t end the program with task manager.  I did what I had done several times already in the few days I have owned the phone, I pulled the battery out, put the battery back in, and attempted to power up my phone.  My phone is not turning on now.  I tried turning it on while holding the up key on the directional thingy in the middle (this is supposed to hard reset the phone) and still nothing.  I have taken the battery out several times and replaced it and still get nothing from my Blackjack when I try to turn it on.  I have plugged it into the charger and while plugged in I still can’t get my phone to turn on.

I don’t know what else to do. I have no insurance or warranty to cover this phone.  I just spent like $40 on accessories for it that should be arriving in the mail tomorrow.  If I have to, I will buy anothe rone off of eBay buthopefully someone will read this and offer up a solution.  I was just starting to like this phone.

What a great game to watch between the New Orleans Hornets and The Dallas Mavericks…..if you’re a Hornets fan.  The Hornets are now up 2-0 before heading to Dallas.   All I have to say is Chris Paul = M.V.P!  Do you think Chris Paul should win the NBA’s Most Valuable Player award? I would never have a sleepless night if I owned a mechanical back scratcher.  Oh my.  I get excited just thinking about it.  Sometimes I would rather have my girlfriend scratch my back for 30 minutes than have sex.  I have entered searches for such a device at least once a month for many years and the best I ever find are schematics submitted for patents.  I can’t believe it is 2008 and there is still no automatic back scratcher.  This just doesn’t seem hard to make.  Am I naive here?  It seems all you would need it a pressure sensitive doo dad with pointy yet rounded (for safety) plastic or metal fingers and a way to set different patterns and times for the machine to “scratch” you.

If there is such a machine available that can scratch my back without any human interaction…..”touch free” back scratching if you will….please reply in a comment with a link or a phone number to where I can get one.

I was lucky enough to score some free tickets to the round 1 series opener between the New Orleans Hornets and the Dallas Mavericks.  I had gone to three regular season games where the Hornets lost twice and won once.  What are the odds of 2/3 games being losses when the Hornets finished with such a strong record?  It’s just typical for that to happen to me.

I feel like I jinx any team I show support for.  I lived in Alabama the year the Saints made it to the NFC championship.  I return for the 2007 NFL season and travel to Tampa to show my support, where we get killed by the Bucs.  I go to 4 home games…..3 of them are losses.  The Saints finish with a shitty record.  Coincidence?

Things were different Saturday night.  Sure, by halftime, the Hornets trailed by double digits by halftime.  Sure, Dirk was having his way with Peja, West, or whomever Coach Scott put out to guard him.  I had a plan at halftime to turn it all around.  The plan was simple.  All I had to do was miss the 2nd half opening inbounds pass and the Hornets would avoid my jinx. I stayed outside in the smoking section a good minute or two after the 2nd half started.  What happened?  Hornets dominated in the second half and won comfortably.

The next game is tomorrow (Tuesday).  I will possibly buy  tickets if I can find any for sale.

The highlight of my day today, beside the anticipation of hot sex with my girlfriend tonight, is going to Big Lots. I like to visit Big Lot’s once each month.  I usually go o ver $100 when I shop there which means pretty much anything I saw there that I wanted (not needed) I bought it.  Since I buy so much each time I go, I like to wait a month to make sure they have some new inventory in.

Today, I’m hoping Big Lots has a few things in particular. Here’s what I’m looking for at closeout prices:

• Disposable Razors. Something nice, not the cheapie kind. You can get the no name razors anywhere.
• Single Serving Drink Packets. I’m looking for sugar free stuff like Crystal Light, Iced Tea, or some kind of off-brand sugar-free stuff I’ve never heard of but won’t hesitate to try.
• Shaving Gel.
• Beef Jerky.
• Hard Case For Eye Glasses. I just picked up some new frames and need at least one hard case. The cases at LensCrafters were only like $3.00 but I won’t settle for spending $3.00, I’m looking for < $2.00.

If you have never been to Big Lots, you should try it out. It’s not a place for poor people or anything. They just have good deals on stuff that got discontinued and whatnot. Take a look at their weekly ad.  You can also find a store near you with their store locator.
